Meetings and negotiations are ongoing as militants and candidates put their plans into motion for a favourable outcome.
Last August 4, 2021, Jean Nkuété, Secretary General of the Central Committee officially launched the renewal of executives of basic organs of the CPDM. It was during the information meeting attended amongst by members of supervisory and control committees that the tone was set and militants beckoned to work in diligence to achieve the goals set. After the meeting, various chargés des missions took home loads of files pertaining to the renewal exercise, all prepared at the Central Committee.
With the greenlight given, meetings are being organised at various levels with the main interest being to set up lists of candidates for the elections while respecting the directives in the National President’s Circular and SG’s Note. While in some areas the groundwork had been laid and now formalities are just being respected, in other localities efforts are ongoing to reach consensus in a bid to produce lists that represent the aspirations of the base. In the Dja East I subsection section for instance, militants to head lists of candidates for the CPDM, WCPDM and YCPDM have been made known, while an ad hoc committee has been put in place to complete the lists. The incumbent Section president has lauded the maturity and unanimity with which the work is being done. The same scenario is being observed in several localities as the elections at the level of Cells is scheduled to begin on August 17.
Apart from constituting the executives of the various organs, some elite are still offering their militants adherence cards amongst others. Though many were called and registered during the validation of basic organs, some do not possess the membership card, which is requisite for voting. This explains why the purchase and distribution of cards is still ongoing.
As instructed by Jean Nkuété during the launching, members of the various committees have no moment of respite till the end as the success of the elections depends on the way they handle the work cut out for them.
