The over FCFA 100 million was shared to135 beneficiaries of the Kumba I municipality recently.
As part of the implementation of the first phase of the Presidential Plan for the reconstruction and Development of the North west and South West regions, the Kumba I municipality last week received and distributed a consignment of agricultural inputs worth over FCFA 100 million. The consignment includes, trucks, wheel barrows, spraying machines for farmers. Poultry farmers and other livestock farmers received chicken and feed, piglets and plank to build houses.
The exercise was coordinated by the Mayor of Kumba I Council, Barrister Moses Eseme and the Divisional Officer of Kumba I, Ali Anogu, as well as the Divisional delegates of Agriculture and Livestock. The mayor of Kumba I municipality told the population that the gifts were part of the reconstruction project and that it has been donated by the main executing partner of the plan, United Nations Development Program-UNDP.
Beneficiaries were reminded of the objective of the assistance, whose management will be strictly followed up. The grant whose aim is to support the population restore their lost farms inputs, and improve on their present condition, will be realised in different phases, with the last one being complete reconstruction of destroyed houses. The mammoth crowd that turned out at the Kumba I Council could not all benefit, since the selection was done through the submission of request forms by the affected individuals. The 135 beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Government for coming to their aid by trying to revive their economic activities. They assured the administration that the items received will only be used for purposes for which they are intended.
