With the various stadia across the country filling up with hilarious spectators during matches, it can undoubtedly be said that CPDM is living up to its mobilization expectation.
The 2021 TotalEnergies African Nations Football tournament is playing out on a very smooth turf. One remarkable aspect is the massive turnout of spectators during matches and the CPDM can proudly take credit for some if not all the work put in regarding this. The SG of the Central Committee’s call did not fall on deaf ears. Not only are militants showing up for matches to support various teams but the political elite is equally doing a magnificent job in providing logistics to help fill stadia. From the provision of free tickets to the transportation of spectators to stadia free of charge, the actions are numerous and all geared towards making Cameroonians no matter their political leanings enjoy the football jamboree in the country.
Reports from the various localities hosting the games indicate the involvement of local elite in rousing excitement even in those who seemed indifferent to the happenings in the country. Over in the West region, Celestine Ketcha Courtes, Section president for Nde North in Bangante and other elites contributed greatly in increasing the numbers of fans and football lovers at the Kouekong multipurpose stadium. According to Ndam Sanatou, bureau member of CPDM Mfoundi V section, the executive is working tooth and nail to support the head of state, National president of the CPDM record a brilliant score in the hosting of the football tournament. She says thousands of tickets are made available for all and sundry. Also, the political elite are making it a duty to be present physically to cheer the various teams as they seek qualification to the next rounds of the tournament.
As much as it is commonly said that “nothing is impossible for Cameroonians” it is turning out that the same can be said for CPDM in particular, standing tall amongst other political parties in making the Cameroon destination shine. It is not relenting in its efforts to outdo the Confederation of African football’s expectations regarding turnout especially when detractors had thought Covid-19 could be a hindrance.
Under rain or shine, militants of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement are intent on showing support to their champion Paul Biya while having a swell time during this history making event.
