It took the team great tact to surmount tension and open threats among contenders, as well as convincing councillors to settle on the party’s candidate.
The population of Limbe and municipal councillors have congratulated the CPDM Central Committee delegation for the successful mission to designate the new City mayor. Headed by Jacques Fame Ndongo, the team exhibited not only tact but great experience to call the councillors to order as well as the contending parties. Also the choice of a 44 year old youth, Paul Efome Lisombe Ngale as city mayor, also gave the population the opportunity to again salute the CPDM Central Committee for entrusting confidence in the youth.
Prior to the elections, four candidates had nursed aspirations of replacing the late Andrew Motanga Monjimba as Limbe city mayor. For the interest of the party and to maintain order, and discipline among the CPDM councillors, the central committee had to wade in. Their excellent and prompt intervention, resulted to the calm, serenity and acceptance of the party’s candidate. The three candidates nominated during the session Oscar Quan, Karen Tanga and Ndive Woka, all stepped down in favor of the party’s candidate, after last minutes consultations. At the end of the successor mission of the CPDM Central Committee, the take home message was that, it is a victory for the CPDM as well as victory for the Limbe municipality.
The new city mayor, Paul Efome Lisombe Ngale, has already set his goals and objectives for the city of Limbe. To provide water, electrify and tar Streets, employ youths, as well as raise the city to greatness. The final year master student in political science of the university of Buea, and Treasurer of the Fako IB section, is determined to use his wealth of experience in the party to achieve his goals. He is also expected to galvanise the youths, exhibit maturity and gain the confidence of the hierarchy and the population.
