Martha Njinkwen : WCPDM Donga Mantung V’s Iron Lady

She has maintained steady growth as a militant of the CPDM and now pilots the activities of the Women’s wing of the Donga Mantung V section in Nwa.

The WCPDM section president has as prime objective the emboldening of the Nwa woman, helping her to cultivate a spirit of fearlessness and firm commitment to enhance the growth and development of the Section. Since joining the CPDM party in1986, Martha Njinken has occupied several positions of responsibility within the section. According to her, “I was first voted as treasurer for the sub section, a position I occupied for five years. In the branch, I was secretary and in the recent exercise of the renewal of the party’s executives of the basic organs the militants overwhelmingly chose me as their president for the women’s wing”, she said.
Asked why she chose to militate within the CPDM and not in any other party NJinkwen said, “The charisma of the National President of the CPDM Paul Biya convinced me beyond any doubt. I saw a man who was devoted to build his nation against all odds. I also had to desire to contribute in building my country and there was not better than the CPDM which I have militated in for thirty six years now without any regrets” she affirmed.
Mrs. Njikwen, is determined to make her prints in the Nwa section where she heads the women’s wing. Her task has not been easy given that she took office at a time when the socio-political crisis rocking the North West and the Southwest regions of Cameroon was at its peak. Determined to make right a wrong the one that has been called “the Iron Lady” has stayed true to her calling and is pursuing her dream to always support the party and also to empower her peers to see in the CPDM the great future of Cameroon.
In the most challenging situations like the brutalities and threats from separatists, Njinkwen has remained undeterred and she continues to encourage the women of her section to serve the party with total commitment. She has also continued to educate the women of the section to be responsible mothers. She cautions them to be exemplary wives and mothers, hence keep the warmth of their homes and ensure that their children do not get involved in what she termed “disguised criminality of a few misguided and unpatriotic persons who are chasing nothing but the wind” she insisted.
She has been calling on all the women in the section to join hands with the CPDM and build a strong, peaceful and united Cameroon for the good of their offsprings.
