Through an initiative of the WCPDM section president, less privileged and displaced militants of the section will benefit from trainings on income generating activities to help them during this period of crisis.
Josephine Eleanor Ngassa, Section president of the women’s wing of Meme I C, section, Kumba III, is determined to upgrade the living conditions of the women of the section, who make up the majority of the population of militants. The WCPDM section president, elected last year has maintained a strong bond with the women, always on the forefront of all party activities in Meme division. Her constant financial support and mobilisation has earned her much admiration from the women of Meme I C section. Josephine Eleanor Ngassa says, “Due to the ongoing crisis, and given that a greater part of our section is in the rural area, most of the women of our party have relocated to the city center of Kumba. Life in the city has not been easy with them. As the head of the women’s wing, I feel their pain. So far, a team of women has assessed the immediate needs of the less privileged and displaced women in Kumba III. We will be organising trainings on income generating activities like soap making, cassava processing, dress and shoes making among others”.
The WCPDM section president explained further that her wish is to put smiles on the faces of women of her section. She has assured the women that much will be done to keep them together and transform their lives. The project if realized will impact more than 1000 women, and will revamp the spirit of militancy and trust in the CPDM party.
Some of the women, who reacted following the announcement of the section president, lauded her and urged the different wings of the party to emulate. The women saluted the section president for her spirit of mobilization and financial support to the activities of the women in different national and party events.
