The CPDM is structured in such a way that responsibilities are well mapped out and at the level of the regions and divisions, Permanent Delegations play the overseer role for smooth functioning.
If the CPDM has weathered the storms brought about by machinations of the opposing camps for decades and counting, it is partly thanks to its structuration. From top to bottom, roles and responsibilities are assigned accordingly thereby leaving little or no room for disputes on who does what, where, when and how. It is thanks to this order of things – the understanding of functions that the Party intends to continue expanding its territory, reason it is quick to close fissures when confusion sets in.
On his recent working visit to the West Region, Jean Nkuété, SG of the Central Committee highlighted that executives have the support of the Regional and Divisional Permanent Delegations of the Central Committee. “The Permanent Delegations do not replace you. That is not their role” he said. “They are there to supervise you, to guide you and to ensure that your activities are in line with the expectations and orientations of the Party Hierarchy” he added. No need then for any hassle the SG concluded. In this perspective, the SG prescribed Heads of Divisional the Permanent Delegations of the Central Committee, supported by the Heads of Regional Permanent Delegation, to hold coordination meetings with the Presidents of CPDM, YCPDM and WCPDM sections at least twice a year, in order to ensure the control of the effectiveness of activities and their follow-up. He nonetheless quipped that he counted on the ever growing collaboration of comrades in the government and other functions, parliamentarians, general managers of companies and senior officials of public and private administrations.
Jean Nkuété noted that modern and efficient political work is done in teams. This is envisaged in the Party’s statutes and so he encouraged teamwork saying that it “enhances creativity, multiplies sources of inspiration, strengthens the feeling of belonging to the group and reduces frustrations, all of which contribute to convincing more easily on the ground”.
