The remains of the veteran journalist and avid politician were laid to rest on 29 October 2022 in Limbe, South West region.
Like a soldier fallen in battle, Enanga Kebbi was raised to the rank of Grand Officer of the National Order of Valour by the Head of State, Paul Biya before her interment. A decoration that could only be merited by one whose service was nothing short of remarkable.
Even in death, Juliana Enanga Kebbi was a shining star that captured and kept the attention of thousands from all walks of life. At her coffining at the Yaounde General Hospital on 28 October 2022, mourners were faced with the reality that the once jovial and lively mother, sister, friend, comrade and colleague had begun her journey to the world of no return. During the requiem mass that ensued at the Saint Joseph Parish, Mvog-Ada, Rev. Father Humphrey Tata Mbuy recalled the deceased’s moments as a Christian in that parish and who had left an indelible mark in the hearts of fellow parishioners. In his homily, the priest cautioned mourners not to be preoccupied with the idea of death, but rather live in service of others despite the travails of life.
At the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Gardens Limbe where the last mass was said for Enanga Kebbi, family members and friends on 29 October 2022 turned out in their numbers to say their adieus. The officiating priest, His Lordship Michael Miabesue Bibi, Bishop of the Buea Diocese drew inspiration from the holy books of Wisdom, Romans and Luke to encourage mourners to make choices on earth that would grant them eternal rest in heaven.
Enanga Kebbi had bowed out of life while in active service at the Central Committee of the CPDM and so to accompany the fallen comrade to her final resting place was a delegation from the Central Committee led by Prof. Elvis Ngolle Ngolle. Members of the National Bureau of the WCPDM were equally present alongside the mammoth of militants from the Fako II Section. As a bearer of the Secretary General’s message to the bereaved family, Prof. Elvis Ngolle Ngolle paid homage to the committed CPDM militant who would be remembered for her loyalty. The huge crowd of mourners attested to the rainbow personality of the departed who was described as devoted, loving and fun to be with.
