The President of the CPDM for Mafou and Akono South West Section says no one can cause militants in Akono to change their followership with the CPDM.
L’Action: Mr. President, How is the CPDM faring in the Mefou and Akono South west section?
Daniel Hippolyte Bickoe: Our great party the CPDM is doing great in Akono. The different activities of all basic organs are carried out as required by the party’s hierarchy. We take advantage of the peaceful coexistence militants enjoy to pass our messages across and so far, so good. We work hand in glove with our militants to bring our national President Paul Biya’s vision to fruition in our section.
What are some of the major activities you carry out to maintain the grip of CPDM in Akono?
We permanently mobilize militants behind our champion. The militants have to know the day-to-day evolution of the party. We do this through statutory meetings involving the bureau. These take place every two months while section conferences are held every after six months. We are looking forward to the next one coming up in December 2022. These are occasions where we mobilize, educate and inform militants about the party’s ideas. We had our first section conference since coming into office in 2021 in March 2022. Yes, we have organized two football championships so far and this greatly gathered men and women of our sub division, hence the animation of our section.
The National President holds the empowerment of militants on the field dear. Have you been doing anything in that light?
We have trained some people in information and technology and we intend to train more militants in capacity building activities that can generate income for their upkeep. We want to do this in collaboration with a certain number of Ministries such as the Ministries of Agriculture and of Youth Affairs.
How do you see the future of the CPDM in Akono?
The future is bright for the CPDM in Akono for several reasons. The CPDM gives security, assurance and insurance. Our section has been the unquestionable bastion of the CPDM and remains. Considering the many benefits that have come our way thanks to the CPDM, we can only increase our commitment and loyalty. Akono is made up of thirty-six (36) villages with over ten thousand (10.000) militants, and the CPDM is our lone party.
