Militants of Kupe Muanenguga III Section pledged unalloyed support to their “Champion” in his quest to ferry the country to ever brighter shores during celebrations marking President Paul Biya’s 40th anniversary at the supreme magistracy.
It was in colourful party fabrics that militants of the 46 Subsections that make up Kupe Muanenguba III Section showed up for the anniversary celebrations on 6 November 2022. Men, women and youths by their very numbers at the Tombel Government School field attested to the fact that the locality had shaken off the dust of secessionists and their futile schemes and were ready to continue a calm and peaceful community life in respect of state institutions, incarnated by the man of the New Deal, Paul Biya. It was in the presence of Elung Paul Che Minister, Assistant Secretary General at the Presidency that Ebong Basil, 1st Deputy Mayor lauded President Biya’s achievements in 40years, stating that the appointment of sons and daughters of the municipality counted as some of several blessings.
It was further ascertained that for the locality to advance on its path to development, there was need for reconciliation and peace. The point was buttressed by Chief Ebong Pende in a discourse in which he stressed that “development settles where there has been reconciliation and where peace reigns”.
While addressing militants, Mbulle Valentine, Section President highlighted that “it is with the New Deal that Cameroon has forged the indomitable mentality… the fighting spirit… the resilience that makes us the envy of others”. He applauded fellow comrades for burying the hatchet after the reorganisation of the party’s basic organs adding that the prevailing enthusiasm shows that “Kupe Muanenguba III is forging ahead as one man”. Mbulle Valentine equally recognized and saluted Minister Elung Paul Che’s magnanimity and pleaded that as the “hunting dog” of the community, the Minister should do more for the development of the municipality and the division, which as it stands is in dire need of roads to ease the movement of people and goods. For his part, Minister Elung Paul recalled his humble beginnings and assured the people that he would never forget Tombel and that Kupe Muanenguba was in President Paul Biya’s good books. He urged everyone to remain focused and united as nothing can be built in chaos. The colourful ceremony was punctuated by the award of prizes to some meritorious militants for their commitment to the party as well as musical interludes with a message from the Solidarity Singers that spoke volumes of the militants’ pledge. “When Mr. Biya struggles from the right, let us try to struggle from the left”.
