Municipal and regional councilors that make up the electorate of the senatorial elections turned out massively at the launching of campaigns for the Menchum division in the North West region.
The Divisional leader of the senatorial campaigns in Menchum division Hon Nji Fidelis launched the campaigns on Sunday March 5, 2023 in the Wum town hall.
The turnout was astounding given the security situation in the region. 21 out of 25 municipal and regional councillors from Furu Awa, 36 out of 36 municipal and regional councilors from Fungom, 26 out of 26 municipal and regional councillors from Benakuma and 22 out of 24 municipal and regional councilors from Wum attended the launch. The campaign leader also said executive members of sections, CPDM elite, 15 traditional rulers, administrative authorities, Mayors and members of the campaign teams attended the groundbreaking event. “Exciting and strategic discussions during the come together, prepared the grounds for Mach 12”, the campaign leader said.
Youth Power
Menchum division is presenting a young Senator on the regional list of the CPDM. This adds to two young MPs at the National Assembly, and four young mayors of the division. Party authorities of the area say 80% of Municipal and Regional councillors from the area are young. Maybe the development trajectory of Menchum division could change with the young people in place.
Momo
Following in the footsteps of other divisions of the North West region, Momo division has launched senatorial campaigns. Section Presidents, Mayors, Regional and municipal councilors of Momo kicked off campaigns at Ayaba Hotel Sunday March 5, 2023. This was under the leadership of the President of the Momo CPDM Divisional campaign team for the Senatorial elections Minister Mbah Acha Rose.
