The strong come back of the CPDM party at North West senate representation is most likely. Candidates and campaign team members have expressed optimism as they await results following Sunday, March 12 polls in the region.
The party which suffered a blow from the opposition in 2018 and conceded defeat on the race to the senate despite their control over more councils in the region then, learnt the lessons that would see them leave nothing to chance this 2023.
It has been a collective walk involving members of the campaign teams, the candidates and their alternates running on the ticket of the ruling CPDM who have taken no holiday to mobilize, and ensure their electors were set for voting across the seven divisional headquarters.
On election day in Bamenda, members of the regional campaign team of the party made several turns to the polling centre at the Regional Delegation of Water Resources and Energy to see for themselves the comportment of their electors, and to also confirm that the faces they campaigned to during the two-week exercise were present to cast their votes.
At Ayaba Hotel in Bamenda where the regional campaign team headed by the Regional Permanent Delegation lead; Philemon Yang was planted, it remained a serene atmosphere with team members making entry and exits to feel the temperature on the field. The campaign team head would from 1pm receive reports from the divisional campaign heads on the progress of the exercise at their respective divisions.
Of the 249 electors expected to cast their votes at the Bamenda Upstation polling centre which comprised councilors of Santa, Bamenda I, II, & III, Bali, Bafut, Tubah Councils and Divisional representatives of Mezam, 220 were CPDM invested councilors, yet the party hierarchy through the campaign teams invest resources to convince these militants to vote the CPDM list as well as made assistance for their logistics.
The efforts implored by the party, Dr Ndosiri Bridget, senate candidate for Mezam asserts is to achieve the desired victory which they await from the pronouncement of the Constitutional Council, fifteen days after polls.
