Sons and daughter of Momo on Saturday April 15 welcomed their son and Senator Enwe Francis Abi hilariously as he took up new office.
Joined by dignitaries across the nation, the Momo people who converged on the conference hall of Hotel des Députés in Yaounde hailed the one they have named as “Momo’s son of consolation”.
The former MP now Senator was given a red-carpet reception in a very colourful ceremony. Five traditional dance groups from the five sub divisions staged a spectacular show. Section Presidents, Mayors, councillors, the elite of the division, traditional authorities and former alternate Senators were on hand to welcome the elected Senator and his alternate.
Minister Mbah Acha Rose who is Head of the CPDM Central Committee Delegation for Momo division who chaired the event hailed the massive turnout of the Momo people in Yaounde. According to her, “the victory of Senator Enwe Francis and the CPDM in Momo division is an eloquent testimony of the desire of the people of Momo for growth, development in Peace and unity”, she said. The Minister used the occasion to send a strong message to the people. In her words “Momo people must rally behind the Senator, support his so that together we can bring meaningful development to Momo”, she emphasized. Minister Rose Acha also used the opportunity to call more to join the CPDM. “We want to call all who are not yet on the CPDM train to get on board. The CPDM is a party of Peace, unity and development” she insisted. The Minister Particularly thank the National President of the CPDM, President Paul Biya for “appointing besides our senator two alternate senators so that in Momo we have three alternate Senators to work with the main Senator”, she emphasized.
Senator Enwe Francis hails from Widikum and is one of the ten Senators representing the North west region. He inspires great hope and is looked up to. The population sees him as one who will help them out of the numerous challenges facing the division given his closeness to the people and his push for development. The energetic and go getter senator and son of Momo is no novice in the Cameroonian political arena.
He is making his great come back after leaving the National Assembly in 2020. He comes back to scrutinize bills and control government’s actions.
During the celebration Saturday, Senator Enwe Francis acknowledged his indebtedness to the people of Momo and to Cameroon the nation he loves. Infront of the thousands, he kissed the accoutrement, recognizing it as a symbol of authority and took a firm commitment to serve Cameroon with all his strength and might.
