Militants of the CPDM in the Momo South Section in Widikum have shelved fear, joined the CPDM train anew in the hope of coming out definitively from the shackles of the crisis.
The took the bold step on May 19, prior to National day celebration in a ground breaking section conference; the first again since the crisis started. The section conference, brainchild of Akwa Stephen Tambu, section president and local authorities of the party brought together militants from all 26 sub sections in Widikum. It was held under the theme “United for Peace, Youth Empowerment, Progress and Development”.
According to the section president “the theme was purposefully chosen with the intention of driving down the message of unity and peace especially in Widikum which is one of the most hit areas”, he said. “We have come to stimulate our people to rise up, dust themselves and to catch up hence rebuild. With the advantage that we have in Paul Biya and the CPDM which is the party that seeks the unity, peace development and growth of every Cameroonian, we are encouraging our militants to get ready to make their voice heard by being true militants, hence follow the CPDM”, the section president continued.
Akwa Stephen called on militants of his section to be brave in making their choices especially concerning national life. He cautioned militants not to shy away but to actively take part in national and party events. He also insisted that every militant must go out on May 20 and participate in the march pass.
In his words “this is the only way to shame the enemies of our unity and peace”, Akwa emphasized.
A call which to him fell on fertile ground as 20th May celebration in Widikum saw a huge turnout the next day.
“Militants of the CPDM have been emboldened. They no longer feel intimidated to express their political attachments.”, he revealed.
He also acknowledged that political activity in Widikum has suffered due to the crisis of the last years. In his words “there is much to be done in a very short time considering that 2025 is already at the door”, he said wwith concern.
To safe time, he thus engaged militants in the section to make use of every available means to promote the growth of the CPDM in Widikum.
