Under the impetus of Mbulle Valentine, the executive met in Tombel to lay the groundwork for activities in prelude to the celebration of President Paul Biya’s accession to power.
Militants of Kupe Muanenguba III Section plan to make the 41st anniversary of the New Deal a memorable one in Tombel. It was to plan the series of events in the build up to 6 November 2023, as well as discuss the welfare of the section, that the executive of the section alongside other subsection presidents under the leadership of Mbulle Valentine met on 8 September 2023. This year, other sporting activities will be attached to the second edition of the inter-subsection football tournament, championed by the Section president. There will also be seminars to educate militants on the functioning of the basic organs of the party as well as their roles and responsibilities as militants of the CPDM. As part of activities to keep the section vibrant, plans are equally underway for the holding of the statutory section conference.
The section executive and subsection presidents in attendance were reminded of the importance of statutory meetings as well as their responsibilities as grassroots leaders. Mbulle Valentine used the occasion to beckon on militants to remain united and committed in action to avoid infiltration from the enemy. He emphasised the need for peace to continue to reign in the Section and municipality at large. He lamented over those who took delight in tarnishing the image of Tombel, especially over social media platforms, noting that rather than portray a negative image of the area through such acts, it was better to dialogue and mend the cracks. With the 2025 elections in the horizon, the section president noted that this was the ideal time to make peace and strategise to keep detractors at bay. Meanwhile, the executive has championed several drives to encourage the population especially youths who have come of age to register massively on electoral rolls.
Mbulle Valentine equally challenged the Tombel cultural and development association to strive to attract development by supporting the head of state through the CPDM. Rather than sit back to criticise, he cautioned them to nurture and propose projects to develop the area as they desire.
A meeting with all subsection executives has been slated for 30 September to fine-tune plans for events in prelude to the anniversary celebration, with the launching of sporting activities set for 1 October 2023.
