The executives of the Section, and 46 subsections that make up Kupe Muanenguba III have vowed to remain steadfast in the CPDM, with peace and unity as their mantra to conquer future challenges.
The executive of Kupe Muanenguba III Section – Tombel is permanently on the field. It is this constant touch with the base that has permitted the CPDM to stay intact despite manoeuvres to bring chaos in the fold. Several activities are organised at various levels under the leadership of Mbulle Valentine, Section President, in the bid to keep the engine running. It is to take stock of the road covered amidst underlying challenges, that the militants met in an enlarged executive meeting on 30 September 2023, at the Tombel community hall. “Consolidating the party at the base for sustainable peace, national unity and living together in one and indivisible Cameroon” was the theme of the meeting, which witnessed a massive turnout of the grassroots leaders from the three wings of the party. Amongst other issues, participants discussed activities that have been carried out in view of keeping the Party’s flame alive. Various Subsection presidents took turns to present reports of their actions on the ground including the holding of statutory meetings as stipulated by the Basic Texts. The meeting was an opportunity to lay the groundwork ahead of political consultations that will redefine the political map of the country. Aware of the presidential and municipal elections to hold in 2025, Mbulle Valentine made a clarion call to his comrades saying “the time to plan for a resounding victory for the CPDM is now”. The Section President reiterated the Secretary General, Jean Nkuete’s appeal for those at the grassroots to seriously and rigorously prepare for the upcoming elections. “The Party hierarchy is calling on us not only to get down to work but to avoid all forms of division”.
Despite the slowdown of CPDM activities in other parts of the Anglophone regions, militants of Kupe Muanenguba have not relented efforts in mobilising their peers to stay in line, register on voters’ rolls, withdraw their cards and be ready for upcoming electoral rendez-vous. To Dr. Ngome Felicia, WCPDM Section President, “the groundwork for me is continuous mobilisation of our militants. We have involved leaders of the Cells and Branches to join hands in garnering the troops in readiness for the stakes ahead.”
Meanwhile, plans are ongoing to make the 41st anniversary of President Paul Biya’s accession to power a resounding success in Tombel. It is in this light that Minister Elung Paul Che through his representative, Hon. Cecilia Njumbe Dione donated bails of the party fabric to militants who have resolved to envisage ways of achieving more victories for the CPDM in the area.
