Grass root militants of the CPDM in the Mefou and Akono West section are being remolded from beggarly to producing and providing militants.
This is thanks to efforts by Effa Messi Grégoire Saturnin, Section president and an amplifier of Paul Biya’s vision for an autonomous and productive militant base. Effa is a pragmatic and astute CPDM militant since 1985. He became section President in 2013, taking over from Biloa Tatiana said to have become section president at age thirty -six (36). The section recorded great results thanks to her and till date Tatiana and Effa are working hand in glove for the party in Ngoumou. According to Effa Messi “I am pursuing the continuity of what we started since 2015 with my predecessor”, he said. Effa is set on a cause to redefine politics, from what obtained before now. Thanks to President Biya, the autonomization of militants is been made key as a means to trigger and enforce growth and development for the militants first, then the section and the nation. He plans to bring a radical change breeding an exponential transformation in the lives of CPDM militants, would be militants and sympathizers as a way to profitably woe them to join and stay glued to the party. To match words with action, in his first year at the head of the section, some one hundred thousand (100) Cocoa plants were put at the disposal of militants, in the form of nurseries for some and others as full-blown plants; ready for planting. Still during his first year in office, agricultural materials, manure to boost agricultural production for the autonomization of militants and the population were distributed to all 16 sub sections. In 2023 alone, eight thousand (8000) pre sprouted oil palm nuts were distributed in the entire sub division. A corporative involved in the cultivation of Maise in the sub division produced fifty (50) tones of Maise this year and received aid from the section president. In his words, “We have some advantages in the agricultural sector based on the fact that we work with the Ministry of Agriculture”, he revealed. Effa is making distinctive prints in the Mefou and Akono West section particularly on the economic scale. He is on a unique path to encourage militants of the CPDM in the domain of agriculture. The section president is also very instrumental in the education of the militants on the rules of the party. This is to ensure that with the fast-approaching elections of 2025, they will choose and vote for the CPDM by conviction. He also ensures that they become autonomous both in society and in their families, hence the nurturing. An assertion goes that two categories of persons exist in the world; the one includes those who displace mountains and the other those who complain and explain the difficulties and inconceivability of displacing a mountain. It holds for the Mefou and Akono west section in Ngoumou, and Effa Messi Grégoire Saturnin could conveniently be said to belong to the former.
