Through the autonomization of militants, a radical change breeding an exponential transformation in the lives of CPDM militants is spurring them to stay glued to the party.
This is by reason of the impetus given by local authorities of the section in a bid to autonomize militants. The end result is to teach militants in the section how to fish rather that to give them fish.
Two years after the coming into office of Saturnin Gregoire Effa Messi as section president, the balance sheet is largely positive on the over all. Since September 2021, the section president has proved himself as a growth and development catalyst through various activities he carries out. In the first year at the head of the section, one hundred thousand (100) Cocoa plants were put at the disposal of militants, in the form of nurseries for some and others as full-blown plants: ready for planting. Still during his first year in office, agricultural materials, manure to boost agricultural production for the autonomization of militants and the population at large were distributed to all 16 sub sections of the section.
According to the section president “We have made of the Mefou and Akono section a development section”, he said.
In this year 2023 alone, eight thousand (8000) pre sprouted oil palm nuts were distributed in the entire sub division. According to Saturnin “till date palm oil is still being imported in Cameroon, we therefore want to make our section and particularly Ngoumou sub division a large oil production basin”, he insisted.
A corporative involved in the cultivation of Maise in the entire sub division and that produced fifty (50) tones of Maise this year was given aid by the section president who said “We have some advantages in the agricultural sector based on the fact that we work with the Ministry of Agriculture”, he revealed.
During the recent training seminars by the Central Committee, local authorities were asked to prepare militants for 2025. for this, Saturnin said “During celebrations marking November 6, we prescribed that all our sub section presidents do an inventory for us to know who is registered and who is not”.
This is a mission that is not being taken lightly in the Mefou and Akono west section and these are all elements that give the party its worth.
Because a political life must be nurtured to avoid any derailed from the adversary, the autonomization of the CPDM militant in Ngoumou will go a long way to change their perception of politics. The militants are fast ceasing to be receivers and are fast becoming producers and givers. This is the only way they will freely do their contributions with the party and take care of themselves and their families.
