CPDM local authorities in the Momo South West section in Widikum are beckoning on potential voters to enroll on the voter’s lists.
They have been insisting that time is short and many have come of voting age. The section President Akwa Stephen Tambu has been calling on all local authorities to make every potential voter count by encouraging them to register now. Akwa Stephen Tambu has intimated that the Momo V section went to work immediately after the end of year feasting as Elecam reopened voters’ registers in January. “In collaboration with the Elecam team which is doing a great job already, a kit has been installed in the Widikum police station and potential voters are streaming there daily to get their name on the lists”, Akwa said. Like in other parts of the region, challenges to prepare potential voters abound. Some of them are the lack of the appropriate documents to enable voter’s register. “We have launched an appeal to our elite in Momo division requesting that help be given to potential voters where necessary so that they can get the required documents to enable them register”, he insisted.
Judging from the enthusiasm that is being manifested by the people to be part of the registration exercise, the Momo V section president has opined that “the response so far from the people is promising. we still have a lot to do especially given that, this year 2024 is the last that will usher us into the election year”, he said.
For a people that are just coming out from a crisis, some who had been displaced and rendered homeless are back to pick up their pieces. The truth for them is blowing in the wind as they have had to compare two things. It is believed that if given the adequate documentation and opportunity voters in the Momo south west will register and vote when the time comes.
