YCPDM youths from 13 subsections including Ngab I and II, Tombel I,II, III, IV and V, Kupe I and II, Peng I and II to name but these showed up to celebrate the day reserved for them in the colours of the CPDM.
The huge turnout at the Tombel government school field for festivities marking the 58th edition of the Youth day was evident of the peace that reigns in the area. Students and pupils who have for some time now been enjoying studies in a calm environment were elated to join their pals nationwide to commemorate the youth day, celebrated this year under the theme, “Youth, Import Substitution, and Economic Patriotism for the Progress of Cameroon.”
As it’s the tradition, youths of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement thanks to weeks of preparatory meetings and mobilization made their mark during this year’s celebration. Under the leadership of the YCPDM president for Kupe Muanenguba III Section, Ngallame Conrad Ngallame, the youths showed up massively clad in attire printed with the party’s emblems. From the purple party regalia to t-shirts and caps and mufflers, the young men and women in unison and by their presence declared their unalloyed support to the CPDM and its national President Paul Biya. Their numbers and determination to partake in the youth day festivities were a clear message that they were ready to throw their weight behind the powers that be to contribute in making their area in particular and the country at large a favourable place for development.
Having awaited their turn after the civilian march pass that was presided at by the Divisional Officer Leonard Nyam alongside other living forces of the area, the YCPDM youths marched pass with beaming faces as the crowd applauded. Initially, the team led by Ngallame Conrad had envisaged mobilizing 1700 youths but ended up surpassing the target and which saw the participation of youths in activated centres – far off villages like Etam, Ebunji, Nyasoso, Ngusi and Ngombo.
According to Ngallame Conrad Ngallame, the successful participation of the YCPDM youths was thanks to the financial and material support received from Minister Elung Paul Che, Mbulle Valentine Section President, and Prof. Ngolle Ngolle Head of the Permanent Divisional Delegation of the CPDM and Ngassa Rose, Mayor of Tombel. To him “the constant support of our political elite is what motivates us to remain steadfast and strive for the development of our area through massive participation in activities. One of our objectives during this period was to mobilise youths of voting age to register for upcoming elections. That is why we contacted the Elecam branch head here to bring the registration kits to the ceremonial ground and register those whose names are not yet on electoral registers. We as youths know our role in the party and are determined to live up to expectation by rallying our peers when the need arises.”
In line with the prescriptions of Jean Nkuété, SG of the Central Committee, Ngallame Conrad said they would continue to mobilise youths so that in 2025, their votes will be counted in favour of the CPDM during the presidential and municipal elections.
