The celebration of the 2024 Youth Day in Bui 1-A Section in Kumbo, Bui division of the North West region, has portrayed the attachment of young people in this area to a one and indivisible Cameroon.
The 58th edition of the Youth Day was celebrated in Bui 1-A Section, Kumbo in grand style. The area, like some parts of the North West and South West regions, has a volatile security situation. The ongoing socio-political crisis did not however deter the youth of the subdivision from celebrating the youth day. Under the umbrella of the youth wing of the CPDM, the youths stole the show at the annual event. The participation of the YCPDM Militants of Bui 1-A Section was powerful, observers said.
The youth led by their astute Section President, Ngoran Austin Ntumnyuy, portrayed a group that is dynamic under his leadership. The young compatriots of President Biya took part in all activities to mark commemoration of the day. Amongst the interesting activities was the impressive march pass in which the youths braved the odds to come out in their party garments. Here, anyone wearing the uniform of the CPDM is a target of armed groups.
Ngoran Austin, in an exclusive with L’Action, said it was a «real show of bravery and love for the nation» on the part of his peers who answered present in good numbers. He went ahead to call on all the youth to «denounce all forms of violence» and be active promoters of unity, and fight for «effective» return of peace and normalcy in Bui division, and Cameroon at large.
Before the reunion for feasting, Ngoran Austin praised the elite of the North West and the administration of the division for their contribution to the «massive success» of the event.
The youth are looking forward to celebrating the 39th anniversary of the party, next March 24, 2024, with the same verve.
