Hon. Kum John Nji, the Section President for Menchum II and Member of Parliament representing Menchum North, has successfully mobilized a significant following to ensure a CPDM victory in his jurisdiction in the event of an election.
During a joint section conference of Menchum II Section held on March 23, on the eve of the party anniversary, a remarkable turnout surprised local administrators, signaling a vibrant preparedness and a diminishing fear among the grassroots population regarding their involvement in the political sphere.
Confident in their political alignment, party militants proudly donned their party fabric, infusing the ceremonial ground with a unique colour, reminiscent of the pre-conflict era.
While evaluating the party’s progress in Menchum II since their conference in August 2023, the focus this year has been on disseminating the message of the Central Committee Secretary General, Jean Nkueté. The message emphasizes the need to prepare all basic party organs for a resounding CPDM victory in the 2025 general elections.
Remaining true to the party’s principles, the leadership of Hon Kum’s Section is utilizing all available means to facilitate mass voter registration into the ELECAM registers. Simultaneously, party militants are being educated on the Secretary General’s circular. Hon Kum John elaborated, “The primary objective is to ensure that grassroots militants are fully aware of the upcoming 2025 elections. To better prepare themselves, they have been informed and encouraged to register their names on the voters’ lists. We have observed that many of our loyal militants do not possess national identity cards, NIC, which are a prerequisite for enrollment in the electoral registers. Therefore, we have raised funds to assist loyal militants in acquiring NICs so that they can enroll on the voters’ list.”
Displaying the dedication of valiant party soldiers, the Honourable MP and his team are providing assistance to ELECAM in locating displaced militants, ensuring that they update their information with the electoral body. This enables their votes to be secured for the benefit of Menchum.
In the spirit of solidarity and inclusivity, Muslim militants, who are currently observing fasting and were unable to join their comrades in celebrating the party’s 39th anniversary, were supported with food items and cash to allow them to partake in the festivities once they break their fast.
