Local authorities of the CPDM in the Donga Mantung V section have urged mililtants to be ambassadors of the CPDM in their various catchments always.
With the singular objective of bringing in new voters to register, local authorities have called on militants to spare no effort. This was on 24 March in the Nwa Municpal hall where they converged for celebrations. They recommitted themselves to give a unilateral and an overwhelming success in favor of the CPDM candidate come 2025.
The militants reaffirmed their desire to stage a victory parade in 2025 based on their input in terms of votes for the CPDM candidate Paul Biya. In a motion of support read at the event, they called on President Paul Biya to be their candidate. In the words of Francis Mungusi Nkushuap, section president “We have put in place a deliberate strategy to register as many voters who will vote for the CPDM when the time comes. Militants in Nwa can no longer be fooled. The CPDM is the lone party that can restore our ruins and made life beautiful and worth living again. Our responsibility is to recruit as may eligible CPDM voters as possible who will vote for the CPDM in our section for this to come to pass”, he said.
Still speaking, Mungusi revealed that, “In the later part of 2023 we had three sub section conferences and a section conference which recorded a massive attendance. The results were forwarded to the permanent divisional delegation of the CPDM in Nwa. Our section is doing well to say the least”.
With the commitment of local authorities in the section to keep up the CPDM’s steam, some 50 militants who hadn’t birth certificates and identity cards and who had benefited from the largess of Abdoulaye Labaram; an elite from Sabongari and a militant of the CPDM were acknowled as duly registered on the lists.
The proximity of the section president to presidents of subsections, branches and Cells, is an added advantage that avails him the possibility to get first-hand information about the functioning of the sub sections, branches and cells.
As early as January 2024, the section organized a meeting in Likop. “We invited the general public to sensitize them on the necessity to register on the voter’s registers. On the spot in Likop that day, we registered thirty (30) voters”, he said. As to how the section relates with Elecam, the section president said “We work hand in glove with Elecam. Each time we have a public manifestation, they come and register voters”, he revealed.
There are a few problems that have been identified and the section president said a prompt intervention is being planned. He also plans to visit sub sections to engage militants on the registration process in the days ahead.
