Under the leadership of Minister Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam, the CPDM Central Committee Permanent Divisional Delegation for Momo division, in the North West region has embarked on an ‘offensive operation’ to have militants and sympathizers of the party enrol on voter list.
The political leader who doubles as the Minister Delegate at the Presidency of the Republic in Charge of the Supreme State Audit Office convened a two-day dialogue and consultation meeting in Bamenda, on Friday April 19 and Saturday April 20, 2024.
Grassroot party officials, Members of Parliament, mayors, elite, militants and supporters of the CPDM from Momo division were among the key participants at the come together.
Held under the theme: CPDM Momo Militants for Massive Registration on Voter’s Register, the core objective of the event was to invigorate the party authorities and supporters from Momo division, take note of challenges and engage the local party stakeholders in the voter registration process. “If all the executives of these basic organs are registered, then we are sure that we are going to win. That is my message, get them registered. If you don’t register, then you can’t vote. And if you don’t vote, then you haven’t performed your civic duty,” Minister Mbah Acha stated.
Turning to mayors and Section Presidents, who according to the President of the Permanent divisional delegation have key role to play, she asked the elected officials to follow up and champion the registration of provable supporters. “Mayors, make sure your councillors are registered, take this seriously. Section Presidents, this is your job and not mind, make sure you follow this up,“ Mbah Acha said.
Back to School
Day two of the come-together had traditional rulers as principal participants and focused on how the custodians of customs engage their subjects to enrol on the electoral register. Return of peace in the villages and back-to-school was also on the table.
“I told them the purpose of my mission, which is for us to put our heads together for peace and normalcy to return to our division. I also told them that they should start thinking of how to return to their palaces and should do everything for schools to resume in their fondoms,” Minister Mbah Acha said after the meeting. She encouraged the traditional rulers to persuade the young armed adults to drop their weapons and embrace the olive branch of President Paul Biya.
