The Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM in the North West Region lived a flourishing National Day celebration, showcasing the region’s unwavering spirit and commitment to unity on May 20.
CPDM militants, renowned for their organizational prowess, ensured a seamless and vibrant celebration across major towns and villages in the region.
The lead-up to National Day was overshadowed by security concerns in some parts of the region which party officials, working closely with local authorities, implemented meticulous security measures to guarantee a safe and inclusive environment for participants. CPDM militants organized impressive parades featuring vibrant displays, marching bands, and contingents from the main, women and youth wings.
Bamenda
Militants in the region’s headquarter capital city gave a buzz to the ceremony through their highly decorated party fabric. They kept onlookers so thrilled that it was an atmosphere void of Luke warmness. The militants here marched with the effigies of their ‘Champion’, the National President of the Party and natural candidate for the Presidential election of 2025 as a mark of their undiluted support to the ideals of the National President.
Section President of Mezam IB, Cletus Anyeh Matoya led the jaw dropping March pass which attracted thunderous applauds from the crowd and even the North West Governor. It was a march of victory for the militants and a march to awaken laggard members to come to speed with preparations for elections next year.
Tubah
The CPDM was the only party that marched pass on the Bambili ceremonial ground in Tubah. They marched to showcase their numerical strength, announcing to the public their readiness to retain the Council and Parliamentary seats during municipal and legislative elections next year. The participation of the CPDM militants at the parade in Bambili almost doubled the civilian march past in this locality.
Impressed by their massive participation, the Divisional Officer for Tubah, Massango Metougue Narcisse applauded their bravery and commitment to the ideals of National Unity. He enjoined them to make future rendezvous even better in order to shine the light of President Biya’s efforts to restore peace.
Menchum
In Wum, Dighambon Anthony, Section President of Menchum I cum Mayor of Wum Council led the March pass of his Section. In their numbers, the militants marched to demonstrate their commitment to a one and indivisible Cameroon, stronger in its unity in diversity.
