Youths of the Akono 11 sub section of the CPDM at Doum in the Mefou and Akono South West section on Sunday July 7 commenced their two-week long sports Jamboree dupped “Le Festi -Vacances Tournoi JSRH 2035”.
The opening ceremony that took place at the Doum stadium was presided at by Biyele Lesouga Celine epse Mbida, Divisional Officer for the Mefou and Akono sub division. Also present were the personal representative of Daniel Hippolyte Bickoe, Patrone and section president for the Mefou and Akono South West section, Alphonse Ondoa Effala Mayor, the sub divisional delegate for sports and physical education for the Akono Sub division and local authorities from the other sub sections. In a warm word of welcome by Elono Emah Etoundi, sub section president; he thanked every one present on behalf of the militants of the CPDM in the Akono 11 subsection. “We are happy to welcome here in Doum, our local political hierarchy, the section president; Daniel Hippolyte Bickoe (represented), Mme Elian Ngono, section president of the Women’s wing of the CPDM and Patrick Dzou Mballa YCPDM president of our section”. Elono Emah also admitted that these are rare moments within a year for the section president to honor them so much considering his very charged agenda. This second edition of the sports tournament the sub section president maintained; “will avail militants of our sub section, the elite, friends and sympathizers of the CPDM another opportunity to reunite and commune together”.
It was a highly attended event with the colors of the CPDM very visible especially at the beautifully decorated tribune where the authorities were seated.
The opening match which was played between the Association of the dynamic youths of Doum (AJDD) and the AJASE FC of Olama ended on a 3-0 score in favor of AJASE FC of Olama.
Eight teams will be taking part in the tournament which will run till July 21. The teams have been partitioned into two pools of four.
