Quest for More Voters : YCPDM in Ndop on the Go

Youths of the Ngoketunjia I section in Ndop are redoubling efforts to bring their peers who have not yet registered on the voters lists on board.

They have been taking advantage of the holiday period to mutually encourage themselves especially those of the youth that are alrea dy of voting age and who are sitting on the fence to do the right thing by registration in preparation for upcoming elections come 2025.
The holiday period has availed them a wonderful opportunity as they use all gatherings and youth hot spots to ensure that they pass across this message.
According to Pius Mingo, president of the youth wing of the CPDM section; “we owe it to ourselves to respect the instructions of the Secretary General of the CPDM Jean Nkuété contained in his circular of January 10, 2024 to sensitize and register the maximum number of potential voters on the registers and we are at it.”
The extension of the mandate of lawmakers is an added advantage as it increases the chances for these local party authorities to penetrate areas they had not yet been to.
They are thus multiplying strategies that are suitable for the different areas in the section according to their specificities. According to Mingo, the overall atmosphere in the section shows that the youths are enthusiastic and want to take an active part in nation building issues, the registration on the voters’ lists being one on them.
However, there are set backs like the lack of identification papers by some of the potential voters which still constitute a major worry. Mingo, has been requesting that the elite of the section join forces with the YCPDM and help these category of eligible voters acquire their identification papers. According to him, this will increase the chances of all to be part of this very important exercise. If this is done, then we can say with all confidence that 2025 will meet us firmly on our feet in readiness to give the CPDM a sweeping victory, he insisted. Nkoketunjia I section is made of four fondoms with a predominant youth population. Also, couple with the fact that the section is still recovering from the crisis and its consequences, the youth who have been the major targets in this are poised to do the needful for their situation to change for the better.
