2025 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION PREPS : Increasing Numbers Leave Other Political Parties, Join the CPDM

As the 2025 rendez- vous approaches, Cameroonians who had been lured by illu- sionist into parties other than the CPDM, and who are sstill eager to build a stronger Cameroon are fast finding their way into the CPDM.

They are coming from the different political parties on the scene in Cameroon in a strong quest to support the CPDM complete the great work on course. It is their fervent desire to contribute positively in fashioning a Cameroon where all will live peacefully and forge the growth and development dream of His Excellency President Paul Biya. These are people who had been de- ceived and derailed by the sweet talkers who bring nothing but com- plaints and no actions. Tired of this monotony and anxious to see Cameroon’s wheel of growth turn again they are shaking off the dust from these arid lands. They publicly declaring their member- ship to the CPDM.

A palpable case in point was witnessed in the Mefou and Akono South west section in Akono on 6 November, where Atangan Alphonse, a former militants with the Cameroon Renaissance Move- ment (CRM) publicly extricated self after several years of fruitless militancy with the said opposition party. He pledged his total support to the CPDM and its national president acknowledging that he had made a major step in the wrong direction that must be corrected now. The exercise, coordinated by Daniel Hippolyte Bickoe, section president who after hearing from Atangana Alphonse proceeded to adorn him in the CPDM attire. This exercise drew thunderous ap- plause from the crowd as they welcome Atangana Alphonse into the CPDM family. Gaston Eloundou Essomba, Minister of Water and energy and also member of the CPDM Central Committee; along- side Marie Therese Abena Ondoa, Head of the Permanent Divi- sional Delegation of the CPDM for the Mefou and Akono and Minister of Women’s empowerment and the Family also showed their great appreciation.

Such gestures are recurrent especially in the English-speaking areas of Cameroon where for over six years, people have not been able to express their political convictions. They are becoming bolder now as public manifestation are held and the people wear their CPDM uni- forms and decline their membership from other parties and flood to the CPDM. One thing is sure, they have come to know the truth that the CPDM is the lone party that stands for the interest for all Cameroonians. They are thus putting every effort to brave challenges to this vision by the Head of State as they come. As scales continue to fall from the eyes of people, it is believed that come 2025 Cameroonians in their greatest numbers will freely vote for the CPDM’s candidate bearing in mind that their expectations for the wellbeing of the nation will be met.
