Kupe Muanengouba : Addressed Situation of Bad Roads

A leap forward to correct issues of poor roads in the Kupe Muanenguba constituency by Hon. Fonge Julius has led constituents believe that, road-related challenges in the Division, particularly in Nguti Subdivision, will soon be a thing of the past.

Combined efforts by Hon. Fonge Julius, Minister Elung Paul, and Okie Johnson Ndoh to transform the region’s bad roads for better are gradually yielding fruits. Inspection works carried out recently by Hon. Fonge are still making waves.

The MP’s relentless efforts to provide constituents with an acceptable road network led an inspection tour of the ongoing construction of the Singem–Mbetta–Elumba Road, a 30-kilometer stretch funded by the Ministry of Public Works with a budget of nearly 300 million CFA francs.

This is said to be part of his broader vision to fight enclavement in Kupe Muanengouba. The constituency, has suffered isolation, making economic activities, healthcare access, and general mobility a major challenge for inhabitants. Since assuming office, Hon. Fonge Julius has made infrastructure development his top priority. His commitment to break the barriers of isolation has seen him consistently engage with President Biya, the Minister of Public Works, and other government officials to push for funding and follow up projects for their realization. His efforts have yielded significant results, with several road projects approved and implemented across the constituency. During his visit to the construction site, Hon. Fonge was accompanied by Ajang Evaristus, CPDM Section President for Kupe Muanengouba II, Dr. Esong Simon, YCPDM President for Kupe Muanengouba II; Esapa Patricia Ndoa Epse Eyeni, Alternate Member of Parliament for Kupe Muanengouba II; and Esapa George, contractor overseeing the execution of the project.

Hon. Fonge has reiterated commitment to ensure the people of Kupe Muanengouba enjoy better roads, urging the contractor to deliver quality work within the stipulated timeframe.

He has since 2022, lobbied for and secured government approval and financing for several other critical road projects aimed at opening up remote areas notably the Mwangwekan–Nzobi, and the Mwangwekan–Njuiyue road projects to dis-enclave the Banyue Clan, and the Ngongo–Njungo road project.

Feasibility studies for other projects have also been done, and financial support provided to community-led efforts aimed at opening strategic roads amongst which the Kokobuma–Badun–Ntale Road and the Banyue community road projects. The commitment of Hon. Fonge Julius to infrastructure development complements, the efforts of other key figures like Minister Elung Paul Che, Assistant Secretary General at the Presidency who have championed progress in Kupe Muanengouba; playing a central role in securing major projects Likewise.

Mr. Okie Johnson Ndoh successfully secured an almost 3 billion CFA franc African Development Bank (ADB) sponsorship for the improvement of the Kokobuma–Ntale Road and the Ayong–Sikam Road.
