Unforseen Force : CPDM Women Drive Change in Communities

As Section Presidents, advisers, advocates for women’s empowerment, grassroots mobilizers, and organizers, they demonstrate unwavering dedication to creating positive change.

The women of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM are trailblazers, holding leadership positions that inspire and empower communities across the country.

In crisis-hit regions like the North West, South West, and Far North, CPDM women are beacons of hope. They’re entrepreneurial, fostering education and youth empowerment initiatives that uplift entire communities. Through associative gatherings, door-to-door meetings, and community events, they educate others on the importance of involvement in decision-making processes.

The impact is tangible, many of these women have been elected to councils and parliament, ensuring their voices are heard and valued. Balancing party responsibilities with efforts to promote gender equality, they participate in seminars, conferences, and community gatherings, championing a more inclusive and equitable society.

Their commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment is rooted in the understanding that women’s participation is crucial for progress. These women have rights, equal opportunities in education, health, employment, and political participation, they invest in their families, they contribute to their families’ future, to the future of the community and the future of their country.

The CPDM women’s leadership is a testament to the power of collective action and determination. This year, the international women’s day will be celebrated under the theme “For All women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”  As commemorative activities intensify, stories of women from across communities serve as a reminder that gender equality is within reach when all hands are on deck, working towards a common goal.
