Limbe : CPDM Militants Celebrate Nalova Lyonga

The Manga Williams avenue in Limbe was on Saturday April 5 host to historic event, as militants of the CPDM came out in their numbers to welcome the newly appointed Head of CPDM Permanent Divisional Delegation and substantive member of the CPDM Central Committee.

A people, overwhelmed by a profound and joyful sense of thankfulness, came out triumphantly to say thank you to President Paul Biya for honouring them by appointing their daughter. The event at the Limbe grandstand was power pact and carried such political grandeur marking indelible prints. Professor Nalova Lyonga, Cameroon’s Minister for Secondary Education, made a triumphant and emotion charged entry into Fako as the newly appointed Head of the Permanent CPDM Delegation to the division. A powerful homecoming wrapped in honour, purpose, and renewed hope for the people. It was a moment of pure joy and celebration as Jubilant crowds lined the streets, waving party flags and cheering as drums and traditional rhythms filled the air. Speaker after speaker took to the podium, echoing their admiration for Professor Lyonga’s sterling achievements, especially her transformative leadership at the Ministry of Secondary Education. Her tenure has been marked by visionary reforms revitalizing institutions, modernizing curricula, and raising the bar for academic excellence across the country.

In his words of welcome, the City Mayor for Limbe City Council acknowledged Biya’s choice of Professor Lyonga saying “She is the right choice. It couldn’t have been anyone else but her. I repeat, it couldn’t have been anyone else but her.”

When the moment came for her to address the crowd, she spoke with such grace, humility, strength, and assurance. Minister Nalova Lyonga expressed profound gratitude to President Paul Biya for entrusting her with such a noble responsibility. She pledged total dedication, not only to the CPDM party but to every son and daughter of Fako.

“I will be a mother to all seven CPDM sections that make up Fako,” she declared. “A unifier and a servant.  No one will be left behind. To me, everyone is equal, and I shall treat them as such.”

“My leadership will put an end to infighting. We must stand together as one, because division weakens us, but unity will propel us”, she emphasized.

For a division that has suffered from the brutal acts of separatists and other vices, Nalova’s firm declarations marked a turning point, and an appeal for militants to close ranks, embrace reconciliation, and rebuild the CPDM in Fako on a firm foundation of harmony and shared purpose.
