At a time when social media and other platforms are awash with messages and memos that paint the CPDM black, its militants in the North West and South West regions have in recent times reaffirmed their stance of staying unshaken in their commitment to the Party and its president, Paul Biya.
Despite being hard hit by the socio-political crisis, the militants in these regions have remained steadfast, committed, and ready to give the CPDM a resounding victory in the upcoming October 2025 elections.
Recent events have underscored the depth of support for President Paul Biya, the party’s national president, in these regions. A grand thank you rally in Bangem, which drew in an unprecedented turnout of militants and supporters, from the entire Kupe Muanenguba Division showcased the appreciation of the people for the President’s efforts in bringing development to their area.
The youth of the party in the North West and South West regions have also proved their commitment to the President’s cause. In a show of solidarity, the youths of Bamenda contributed a staggering CFA 7 million to support President Biya’s campaign, while their counterparts in Buea added CFA 5 million to the coffers, bringing the total contribution from the youth in both regions to CFA 12 million.
These acts of solidarity and support are a clear indication of the militants’ unwavering commitment to the CPDM and President Biya. Despite the challenges posed by the socio-political crisis, the people of the North West and South West regions remain resolute in their determination to see the President re-elected.
The CPDM’s ability to mobilize and galvanize its base in these regions demonstrates the party’s strength and resilience. As the electoral landscape begins to take shape, it is clear that the militants in the North West and South West regions are preparing to play their role, especially after the appointment and installation of new officials at the Divisional Delegations of the Central Committee. They are expected to work in harmony with grassroots leaders for the Party to maintain its leading position in rain or shine.
