More than 3000 militants from the different organs of the party are expected to participate in the 40th anniversary of President Biya.
Militants of the CPDM party of the Meme III Section, Konye, are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that they give the 40th anniversary of President Biya’s ascension to power the grandeur it deserve. Through the efforts of the section executive headed by Barrister Musima George Lobe, and the other sub units of the section, different meetings have been organised to planned for the event. At the different levels of the party, mobilisation of militants is the key element, as they intend to cloud the ceremonial ground with the party outfits.
To ensure that there is massive turnout of militants, the different units have been given specific task to mobilize militants in their different areas. Through this they intend to register at least 3000 militants in attendance.
The section president, Barrister Musima George Lobe, who double as mayor of Konye council, is very optimistic that his section will shine and fly high during the event. “ Konye being a major town with the Kumba-Mamfe highway cutting across 12 villages of the municipality, is fast emerging despite the ongoing socio-political crisis. On like in the early years of the crisis, that greatly affected us, our peace loving and dynamic population, and active militants of the party, have decided to change the dynamics by denouncing separatists in the area. All our projects in Konye are being executed as can be seen in the street lighting of Konye town, the ongoing construction of a guest house, the construction of a modern market as well as bridges. These projects have been realised thanks to the determination of the peace loving CPDM militants, who placed the development of the municipality at the forefront”.
To ensure that they attain sustainable peace and development, the militants are more united than ever. In a show of gratitude to the national President of the party, the section president stated that the massive turnout and participation of the militants, will go a long way to portray their love for the party and their national president.
Some activities to grease the 40th anniversary in the section will include football games, traditional display, and support to the displaced persons of the section. It is expected that activities will take full gear in Konye after the great anniversary celebration.
