Besides declaring unconditional support for the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, CPDM, officials and militants of the U.S.A section have pleaded with President Paul Biya to once more represent the ruling party at the upcoming presidential elections.
This was the highpoint of the celebration of the 39th anniversary of the ruling party last March 24, rallied under the leadership of U.S.A Section President, Patience Tamfu. The call from the diaspora joins the litany of others within the nation. Like their comrades in 366 sections and 17 sections abroad, militants, supporters and sympathizers of the CPDM in the U.S.A celebrated under the theme: “All together, let us mobilise with determination and without ambiguity behind the National President, President of the Republic, Head of State, with a view to consolidating his achievements of peace, unity, democracy and social justice, as well as his ambition for the progress of our country”.
Through the voice of their trusted Section President, Patience Tamfu, comrades used the anniversary celebration to declare their support to the party and its leader. The CPDM U.S.A Section Secretary, Geoffrey Mbaku, in a note issued after the celebration, indicated that supporters used the ceremony to pledge full commitment and rally behind the national President of the party, Paul Biya. Speaking at the event, the Section President CPDM U.S.A, Patience Tamfu, thanked supporters who came out in their numbers, to celebrate the life of party of almost four decades. Patience Tamfu also used the occasion to call on all supporters of CPDM U.S.A to continue adhering to the ideologies of the party and the national President, President Paul Biya.
CPDM U.S.A Section is on its feet and waxing after the turbulent moments of 2017 when the Anglophone crisis kicked in. Votes from the U.S.A have always been in favour of the CPDM candidate. The vibrancy of the party is attributed to the dynamism and courage of Section President, Patience Tamfu. She has despite all scathing attacks from the opposition and apologists of the putative state of ambazonia remained steadfast. And is a source of inspiration as far as diehard militancy is concerned. Officials of the party have said the efforts of Patience Tamfu, has kept CPDM USA afloat. One of the activities that kept the flame burning was the ground-breaking section conference of 2022. The three-day Section Conference in Atlanta, Georgia orbited on nation building. The main message of the Section conference was the pledge by comrades of President Paul Biya to work relentlessly for the return of peace in the restive North West and South West Regions and other parts of Cameroon. During the conference, militants declared their stance for a one, united and indivisible Cameroon – rejecting secession calls.
