CPDM General Secretariat : Jean Nkuété Shares Common Meal with Collaborators

This was during a meeting on 15 January at the party’s Headquarters to start the new year 2025.

During this meeting, the Secretary General acknowledged the great work accomplished in 2024, engaging all to do even better in 2025.

It was in a fraternal and cordial atmosphere, Jean Nkuété welcomed collaborators resident in Yaounde and also those who had come in from the regions. He commended the dynamism of all in bringing to fruition the aspirations of the party, concretizing decisions and actions of the party in the just ended year 2024. Jean Nkuété stated that “the new year 2025 which is starting will be a very decisive one, being an electoral year”. The CPDM has the task and high responsibility to positively sell the image of its National President Paul Biya.

He noted that people of bad faith are conniving with haters of the country based abroad, religious or administrative authorities, or using the social media to discredit Cameroon.  “The Head of State, National President of the CPDM has carefully built the peace we enjoy and we must support him in his effort to continue to maintain the nation peace”, the SG insisted. He added while calling on all to do their best in ensuring that Cameroonians are given the right information. The Secretary General acknowledged that there are challenges such as the ever-increasing demand for jobs. “The CPDM is a responsible party and cannot go the way of illusion sellers” he said. It is of utmost importance that we educate and sensitize people on the need to register and to vote in this strategic year. By so doing they will be contributing in fostering the party’s dream to give every Cameroonian a better life be it by creating, providing jobs or by empowering them with new skills. All of these and more can only happen in an atmosphere of peace and conviviality, hence the need for all to jealously preserve Cameroon’s peace.

“These and more directives will be given in the days ahead”, the SG emphasized revealing also that the year 2025 will host two elections; the Presidential and Regional elections. “The convening of the electoral corps should take place by July 2025”, Jean Nkuété affirmed.

The year 2024 also witnessed many deaths within the party ranks and Jean Nkuété appreciated the efforts of all in bringing support and consolation to bereaved families. While the party seeks ways to fill in gaps left by deceased militants, he said “it is important that grassroot militants through the cell, branches, sub sections and sections to put in more efforts in supporting one another hence supporting the party to stand strong”.

The SG also transmitted the National President’s best wishes to the General Secretariat as well as his, reemphasizing on work.
