Just weeks after spending over seven million francs on school supplies and scholarships, local philanthropist Njie Makongo Ngombi has stepped forward with another significant contribution.
This time, he has donated CFAF 3 million to support President Paul Biya’s re-election campaign in the Fako West Constituency. For the CEO of Njie Makongo Foundation, the commitment to his people and their political future appears to have no limit. His consistent drive to make life easier for those in Fako West has led many to call him a true blessing to the area. Many might have thought his generosity had reached its peak after his massive investment in the future of Fako West’s children. During the 2025-2026 academic year, Makongo spent over 7 million CFA to provide scholarships and a wealth of didactic materials, lifting a significant financial burden from countless families.
The official donation was made on September 30th in Idenau, during a working session of the West Coast Communal Campaign team. The meeting, led by Communal Campaign head, Ekema Emmanuel Likine, brought together local leaders, business owners, traditional rulers, and party executives to plan their campaign strategy. The key moment of the day came during a fundraiser, where Makongo’s CFAF 3 million donation provided a major boost to the team’s efforts.
The funds have been shared across the constituency to ensure a wide-reaching campaign. The West Coast Communal Area itself received one CFAF million, while another million was allocated to the Bonavada, Lysoka, and Maumu Areas. A final million francs was dedicated to the Bonjongo Court Area.
When asked about his reasons for such strong support, Njie Makongo spoke about his view of leadership. “Productive leadership is one that anticipates, carefully plans, listens attentively and, most importantly, responds to the people’s aspirations,” he explained. He believes this kind of leadership is why President Paul Biya deserves another term. “I decided to heavily support President Paul Biya’s re-election campaign because he still has a lot to offer Cameroonians,” Makongo said, adding that the incumbent has a huge wealth of experience and embodies the hope that many people. In Njie Makongo Ngombi, the CPDM and the people of Fako West have found a rare gem, a young leader whose resources are matched only by his vision. His significant financial contribution is more than just a donation; it is a powerful catalyst for a campaign poised for victory, proving that the future of the party is in capable, generous, and dynamic hands.
Through actions that have already won him many hearts, Njie Makongo is showing what it means to be a leader who not only talks but also delivers.
