Campaign in the Diaspora : Italy Machinery in Full Throttle

Under the guidance of Prof. Dieudonné Oyono, head of the campaign mission for Europe B, the CPDM is operating without reservation as the countdown to election day approaches.

President Paul Biya’s message of greatness and hope is not only being preached within the national territory but also across its strategic diaspora outposts. The Italy Section of the CPDM campaign team is working tooth and nail to secure votes for President Paul Biya. Focusing on targeted voter mobilization, logistical precision, counter-narrative dissemination, and robust digital vigilance, the team in Italy is leaving nothing to chance. Having completed the door-to-door strategy that prioritized quality over quantity, the team zeroed in on individuals already registered in Elecam’s registers. This pragmatic approach is to ensure that campaign energy is invested in citizens who possess the fundamental capacity to vote.

Members of the team have been operating at the most granular level, the Cells, engaging both party militants and non-members alike, persuading “all and sundry to make their votes count.” As highlighted by Frederick Ndang Nchaw, Chargé de mission for the Italy Section, this has involved proactive support, such as assisting militants in obtaining necessary permissions from their workplaces to facilitate travel to the polling station. The creation of a special group for registered voters has further enabled a streamlined channel for sensitization and continuous updates, ensuring this crucial bloc remains informed and committed.

Recognizing that a registered voter is ineffective if unable to reach the ballot box, the campaign has entered its most critical phase: arranging transportation. A dedicated special committee has been established to mastermind this complex operation, systematically dividing logistical responsibilities across all five Subsections in Italy. The commitment is clear, with the funds raised, the team will procure buses to transport all voters to and from the three polling stations in Rome, thereby eliminating a major practical barrier to participation.

Beyond mere transport, the campaign is investing in voter competence. The meeting of October 6th featured a video presentation meticulously demonstrating the voting process and the subsequent counting of ballots. This initiative aims to build confidence in the electoral process and ensure that every supportive vote is correctly cast and counted.

In the volatile arena of political discourse, the CPDM Italy team is engaged in a continuous battle for hearts and minds.
