In Prelude to Upcoming Municipal and Legislative elections, Local party authorities; communing with grassroot militants who had in numbers to celebrate reminded them to register massively on the voter’s lists.
They took advantage of celebrations marking the 41st anniversary of the party on March 24 to send across strong messages, setting the stage for upcoming elections. They implored all potential voters to get on board, insisting that all women and youths of voting age must take advantage of this seven-year mandate that the Head of State has dedicated to them.
With the hope that proper preparations will bring a resounding victory for the CPDM in the area, Makaka Williams, acting section president reminded militants “this occasion should serve as an intense moment of reflection that avail all militants in the section to recommit to the party and its national President Paul Biya”.
It was also a time to congratulate President Biya following his brilliant reelection as Head of State for another seven-year term.
A perfect opportunity for the local authorities to reach out to a great number of militants gathered together at the same place and time with the message of the party for the time.
In the presence of Hon. Etombi Gladys Ikome, Member of Parliament for the Fako East constituency and deputy chief whip of the CPDM Parliamentary Group, messages for peace, unity and the development of Cameroon galore.
Addressing militants, Mme. Etombi, congratulated the party’s National President for his brilliant re-election in the October 12 Presidential elections. She called on CPDM militants and sympathizers across Fako to intensify and mobilize themselves totally in preparation for up coming Municipal and legislative elections. Hon. Etombi Gladys emphasized that all CPDM supporters must as a matter of importance and urgency consolidate President Biya’s victory by participating massively in the upcoming elections. She insisted that they must give their unwavering support to President Biya. This, she stated “can only be possible if we all register on the voters lists so as to be eligible to vote any time elections are convened”, Hon. Etombi emphasized.
“Sustained mobilization and unity remain essential in strengthening the party’s position at both local and national levels”, she continued.
Together as one man they undertook a public walk within the city, in demonstration of the total cohesion and harmony within the CPDM party ranks. It was also a way to reinforce their allegiance to the CPDM National President and Cameroon’s Head of State; Paul Biya.
