Residents of the Andeck Municipality in Ngie Sub division in Momo division are expectant of great developmental improvements for the betterment of their livelihood.
This follows the council’s participation last April 30, 2026 in the signing of a significant convention with Prolog, alongside four other Municipalities in the North west region. Bamenda 3, Njinikom, Ndu and Widikum are the privileged Municipalities that have currently been signatories of this Convention. The partnership is said to bring five additional crucial projects aimed at improving population general standard of living for better.
The Andeck council projects are valued at some 123,196,913 FCFA and funded through the Community Investment Support Grants (CISG) window. Some key projects supported by CISG according to Ubangioh Helly Mayelle, Mayor of the Andeck council include road infrastructure, Water supply and Sanitation.
The Mayor points out that the pavement of a 1.960 M2 of road with reinforced concrete at the Andeck commercial street, the road leading to Abang quarter, the rehabilitation of water in some villages like Ajei, Akye, Unooh, Edanghi and the Achang portable water scheme are underway.
In the domain of sanitation, Mayor Ubangih said “Modern toilets at the Andeck central area, the construction of a modern, resilient, and inclusive toilet at GBS Bonatu are ongoing”.
Funding of these projects by the Performance-Based Grant (PBG) PROLOG is said to stem from trust built on the Andeck council from previous successes. According to Mayor Ubangoh, “the rehabilitation of Abebung water scheme, currently nearing completion is one amongst many of such successes”. He continued that “these are two funding sources, totaling approximately 158,000,000 FCFA; A demonstration of PROLOG’s confidence in us and the Andeck council in its development bead”.
For a Mayor, bent on seeing his Municipality come out of hardship, Ubangoh Helly Mayelle maintains that “We are committed on leveraging these funds to improve living conditions”.
With the already established trust between the Andeck council and PROLOG, it is hoped that the council will benefit more PBG Fundings in the future.
