2026 Unity Cup Finals : Peace Building Efforts in Ngie

Youths, elite and the population are brazing up to the historic, game changing grand Finale of an ongoing sport tournament to take place on Sunday 23, 2026 at the Andeck Municipal Stadium, Momo division.

Donated and sponsored by Hon. Ujambeng Stephen Andong, CPDM Section president for Momo West IV, the tournament is designed to promote social cohesion youth engagement and lasting peace within the community. Held under the patronage of Justice Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of the Supreme State Audit, the ground-breaking event is a powerful move aimed at using football as a platform to bring young people together to strengthen peaceful coexistence.

The finals is expected to attract community leaders, youths, football enthusiasts, stake holders committed to the peace and development of Ngie.

As the competition reaches its climax, organizers are calling on the population and well-wishers to support and participate in what promises to be a more than a sporting encounter.

This initiative has as theme, “Uniting by Sports, building peace in Ngie”. The slogan “together let us use football as a veritable instrument for peace and unity”, high lights the key requirements of the locality for time. It also speaks volumes of the envisaged peace building and unity the community leaders are clamoring for.  The cup underscores the growing role of sports as a talent that if properly harnessed in the youth, could enhance economic growth, community development, foster reconciliation and unity.

It is a giant step in ensuring the ongoing consolidation of peace.

Hope is that other elite will figure out growth and development initiatives that can continue to speed up this process and join hands to bring the desire and permanent results.

Ngie like other localities in the North west region has suffered lose as a result of the crisis and all of these efforts are geared towards rebuilding confidence and trust.
