The Organizer, Daba Kleinau; 35 a youth leader from Widikum Sub division in Momo division of the North West Region has engaged peers to promote peace during and after the Jamboree.
Against the backdrop of a community recovering from socio-political instability, Kleinau initiated a peace and unity tournament supported by Justice Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam, Minister. A competition valued at over FCFA 4 Million is providing young people with an avenue to showcase their talents while strengthening social cohesion. The initiative has brought renewed hope to Bifang where residents have waited for over 14 years for a suitable football field. The former playing ground haven been used for the construction of the magnificent G.S.S Bifang that now serves to shape the future of young citizens in the community.
In his quest to revamp the area and contribute his quota to the growth and development of Biffing as a young man, Kleinau has pledged FCFA 2 Million towards the digging of a new pitch measuring about 105 meters length to 65 width, approximately a total of 6825 meters square.
In the words of the youth leader, “this investment is more than just football. We sincerely believe that creating spaces for young people to interact, train and compete amongst themselves can build friendship, discipline and a renewed sense of purpose. We have a strong conviction that such initiatives will go a long way to speed up the peace process in our area and enhance unity without which life will continue to be hard especially for the youth”, he said.
For such a courageous and people oriented young man to dare to emulate the good example set already by some elders in the area who are bent on bringing meaningful contribution to the growth, development; it is hoped that the fruits of this initiative will be plenteous. The peace loving and development oriented elite and the population of Widikum and Bifang will do well to rally behind the young Daba and support him to carry this great initiative and more to a successful end.
