North west : Children of CPDM Martyrs Receive Aid

For President Biya’s 40th anniversary as Head of State, 15 children of CPDM militants killed because of their adherence to the party received money and materials in Bafut, North West region.

The initiative came from the Member of Parliament for Bafut- Tubah constituency Hon Agho Oliver, the Mayor of Bafut Ngwakongoh Lawrence and other political elites of the subdivision. They traced out children of martyrs of the CPDM Party and supported them. The kids have either skipped school or are internally displaced persons. A deplorable situation that caught the attention of Mezam IV – Bafut section authorities.
The 15 kids received 40,000 francs CFA each, didactic materials and a blanket for those in secondary school and 30,000 francs for those attending primary. According to Hon Agho Oliver, those in examination classes will have their registration fee paid by the benefactors [party authorities].
In this manner the party recognised militants who died for supporting the New Deal of President Paul Biya. The New Deal which allowed President Paul Biya to create numerous schools and health centres according to the WCPDM Section.

Thank You Mr President
A week to the ruby jubilee of President Biya at the helm of the state farmers converged on the Bafut council to say thank you to Biya for supporting them. They said the President helped them to regain their farms after they suffered huge losses due to what is now known as the Anglophone crisis. Through the Biya’s Plan for the reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions, the farmers got substantial support.
A representative of the farmers Kong Gilbert said : “The six year old crisis has brought untold hardship to the population and the Bafut municipality. Various groups have been affected with farmers being the most as the entire subdivision depends largely on agriculture.” “We have received animal feeds, tricycles, farm inputs and we want to say thank you to President Paul Biya for not forgetting about Bafut,” he added.
Although others have benefited, Bafut is the first subdivision to thank the President, among the 34 in the North West region.
