Few weeks gone into the renewal process, executives of Cells, Branches, Subsections and some Sections of the CPDM have already been voted.
The machinery put in place to renew the executives of CPDM basic organs at home and abroad has been relentless since the exercise was launched by Jean Nkuété, Secretary General of the Central Committee. For weeks now, militants who are candidates for various positions in Cells, Branches, Sub sections and Sections have been involved in meetings and actions all geared towards making the whole process a success. This period has been used by militants of various areas to register militants, witnessed by the intense activity at the Party Treasury with people flocking in to buy adherence cards and contribution stamps. The green light was given by the SG when he mentioned that lists of militants could still be validated as the process unfolded.
Thanks to the efficiency of control committees at the Section, divisional and regional levels, the renewal process is following the mapped course and is entering one of its crucial phases. From the Cells to the Sections, the bureaus comprise presidents, vices and secretaries charged with diverse functions. So far, executives of the lower organs have been elected, thereby giving room for greater negotiations to be made as to the choice of candidates worthy to carry the affairs of the Party at the level of Sections. With the executives of lower organs now in place, they constitute the electorate that has the responsibility of voting the executives of the Section.
Midway into the process aimed at revitalising the base and preparing it for greater political stakes, the majority of militants have expressed satisfaction at the level of maturity and understanding among militants in setting up teams that champion the cause of the party for the next five years, in the perpetual quest to enlarge CPDM’s militant base.
