North West Region : Yang Salutes the Commitment of Militants

Head of the Permanent Regional Delegation for the North West, Philemon Yang saluted the bravery and steadfastness of militants during celebrations marking the 37th anniversary of the CPDM on March 24.

In a ground breaking celebration which happened in the Bamenda Congress Hall where the party leader, Paul Biya launched the party 37 years ago, Yang declared he is a proud person heading militants who understand the virtue of persistence and hold the party like a treasure.
“We know how complicated it is to work in this region, reason why I salute you for the good work, devotion and commitment”, he told militants and party sympathizers.
While vouching for peace in the region, broken by armed conflict since 2017, the former Prime Minister reminded militants that it is the unbroken commitment of the party’s National President and Head of State Paul Biya to restore peace in the North West region just like any other part of the country in conflict.
Urging parents and grassroots leaders of the region to talk to their kith and kin to heed to the call of the Head of State and drop their arms, the Permanent Regional Head lamented that the North West region is the biggest loser of the so called struggle marred by kidnapping and ransom taking, ghost towns, school boycott and wanton destruction of property.
“We cannot change the past but we can shape the future. All of our choices come with consequences. We must learn to choose wisely in future”, he said in an address to the celebrants.
Worthy to commend are the countless strides made by the Head of State to appease the people of the two battered regions, among them; effective decentralisation, special status to the North West and South West regions, the reconstruction project as giant steps to improve on national fabrics. “Constructing a nation is never easy and we must exercise patience”, he implored militants and sympathizers.
