Limbe City Football Tournament : Youth Minister Graces Opener

Minister Mounouna Foutsou urged the youths of Limbe to explore the different youth programmes offered by his ministry to empower themselves politically and administratively.

The minister said, through the Head of State, youth programmes offered by his ministry such as the three years special youth plan, the national youth observatory, the national volunteering program, among others are opportunities open for the youth to help them build their administrative and political lives. Mounouna Foutsou, while launching the Limbe city interquarter football tournament on the theme “Football: A unifying factor for our municipality” expressed satisfaction and congratulations to the Limbe city mayor, Paul Efome Lisombe Ngale, secretary general of the national youth council, for his vision in promoting youth development and empowerment programmes. The minister urged the youths to use the competition to showcase their football talents, shun drug consumption and remain law abiding.
On his part, the visionary city mayor, expressed enormous thanks to the State for putting in place modern infrastructures that has enabled Limbe to play host to international football tournaments. Paul Efome Lisombe Ngale, enjoined the youths to showcase their talents and prove their worth in the game of football, as such opportunities may lead some to the national football team as well as into big clubs abroad.
The city mayor promised his support to all youth projects as well as impressive football clubs in the city. The football competition to be played in one month is dubbed “Fresh Edition” and comprises male and female teams from the three subdivisions that make up the city of Limbe. The male category comprised 25 teams, while the female category has 8 teams.
The football tournament which is a regular activity according to the city mayor is aimed at occupying the youth during the long holiday season, thereby preventing them from juvenile delinquencies such as drug consumption, alcoholism and banditry.
