Muyuka :Hope Burns Within Fako II Section

Fako II Section, covering Muyuka subdivision, Fako division in the South West region is reeling from the crisis that engulfed the area for over five years, dampening the vibrancy of the CPDM party.

In Muyuka, the Party’s activities were rife and popular. But the advent of the armed conflict frustrated the activities of the party. “It’s worth noting that these challenges have greatly hindered the smooth functioning of the party activities within the section. As most of our militants have moved to nearby safer towns either in search of proper education or to seek for safety,” the Section President Findi Stanley revealed to L’Action in an exclusive interview. “Thus making it very difficult for the sub sections, branches and cells to function normally,” he added. Despite the security situation militants have braved odds to celebrate the national day, the youth day , the party’s anniversary. These had not taken place in Muyuka from 2017 to 2021. “Prior to my accession to power, the ongoing crisis had frustrated the celebrations of these events in Muyuka,” the Section President notes. Now, there is plenty of hope that things could go back to normal, authorities of the party have said. The joint section conference held on October 21, 2022 was a pointer. Party officials are hanging on the success of the conference while hoping the steam garnered during the gathering will keep the party alive.
Things could get better if youth are empowered says the YCPDM President Oscar Akale Mukate. While thanking “government for their efforts in bringing peace to our subdivision,” he says “we (youth of Muyuka) wish to have our own big man – representative in the government. We the youths of Muyuka especially the indigenous youth need employment opportunities. If the government can give us jobs opportunity, I think it will help to finally quench down the crisis in Muyuka,” he added.
Despite the prevailing situation militants are firm behind the CPDM and its national President. “During the section conference militants vowed to remain committed and to effectively take part in the voting exercise in all future elections so as to guarantee our victory. Also recently we have witnessed the influx of new militants from the SDF party. Their presence within the CPDM is definitely a plus to our efforts,” the Section President said.
Fako II section counts 30 sub sections, one hundred and eighty branches – 60 per organ, and three hundred and sixty cells, spread out within all the 18 villages that make up the Muyuka sub division. Fako II is one of the seven sections of the CPDM party within Fako division.
