Production, Sale and Transformation of Cassava : Eyumojock Women Enjoy Benefits

The living conditions of the aforementioned segment of the population in the Manyu division of the South West region have been improved through large scale farming, an initiative of Senator Tabe Tando.

Senator Tabe Tando has been assisting the women financially and materially and today many of them can boast of a better life thanks to the initiative. Through the Senator’s encouragement, most women in the area have taken up cassava farming and transformation as and economic activity. According to the Mayor of Eyumojock council, Ntufam Ayamba Jacques Ita, “Nfor Tabe Tando’s financial support has rebirth in our women a fighting spirit. With the money he provides the women plant cassava in large scale for food, commercialization”.
The women have created a network through which they carry out farming in groups and associations. They buy and cultivate large farm lands on which the plant Cassava. When they mature, they harvest and transform them into Garri, Water Fufu, Miondo, Cassava flour, Starch and several other derivatives which they sell and use the money to support their families. Senator Tabe Tando is greatly appreciated for his timelines in stepping into the lives of these people who had been battered by the effects of the crisis and to give them food and a means to survive. This is another palpable prove that authorities of the CPDM are carrying out the instructions of their National President Paul Biya with great loyalty. Paul Biya has always encouraged them to identify the needs of the militants on the field and to meet them.
Diana Ebai a militant who lost her husband in the heat if the crisis is grateful that she can take care of herself and her three kids. “When I learned that Nfor Tabe had launched this initiative, I told myself that this will be my chance. I joined the few women that were already being trained. Besides gaining my life in the transformation of cassava, I train women who come into our association newly. This is my only source of income. I am very grateful to our father Nfor Tabe Tando. I sponsor three children and take care of myself without asking for help from anybody”, she said.
The Senator’s objective to impact the lives of his comrades of the CPDM in Manyu division is being attained. By financially empowering women and making them economically vibrant is a way of reassuring them of the good will of the CPDM. Senator Tabe Tando’s quest to empower the women through the provision of these Cassava farms is an energetic support for the growth of the CPDM in Eyumojock and beyond.
