Nestled amid the rolling hills and lush vegetation of Widikum Subdivision in Momo, Biffang is today a community whose story cannot be told only through its landscape.
Beyond the houses scattered across its hillsides and the earthy roads that connect its inhabitants, Biffang carries a story of resilience, sacrifice and hope. A story closely related to one of its illustrious sons, Hon. Senator Enwe Francis Abi, whose commitment to peace has earned him recognition among those advocating for an end to the crisis that has affected the Northwest and South west regions. Senator Enwe Francis has been described by those who know his works as a lover of peace, a unifier, a man of the people and a committed advocate for dialogue and reconciliation.
For Biffang, locality where he hails, the emergence of such a son is a source of pride. At the time when the socio-political crisis brought fear, displacement and uncertainty to communities across the region; he chose to consistently speak for peace and encourage young people who had taken up arms to reconsider their path and embrace dialogue.
Like many people directly affected by the crisis, Senator Enwe experienced the consequences of the conflict first hand. His home was razed, leaving him homeless while his professional and personal life also suffered significant setbacks. According to accounts from Biffang, these difficulties did not make him abandon his commitment to peace. The significance of that message is increasingly visible in communities in the subdivision especially Biffang which is not only witnessing the return of its people, but also looking with pride at the contribution of one of its sons to the broader search for peace in the region. Security has improved, with residents returning to their homes. Economic activities are picking up, businesses restarting and families rebuilding. School have also resumed with farmers and traders progressively returning to their activities. For Biffang, hope is that this new chapter will continue to deepen as it has stood for peace as a community and strong support for its great and illustrious son.
