BAMENDA : YCPDM Stages Colourful Parade

Militants of the youth wing of Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement, YCPDM of Mezam 1 A, B and C sections massively mobilised and successfully celebrated the National Youth Day in Bamenda.

Thanks to effective mobilisation strategies put in place by the party leadership, youth of the CPDM staged a colourful parade, marching pass the thrilled dignitaries who occupied the tribunes.
Over 500 youth militants of the ruling party outsmarted separatists who had declared the National Youth Day a ghost town in this part of the country to stand for fatherland and commemorate a day to recognize their strides and role in nation building.
Pulled from all three Subdivisions of Bamenda, the excited youth marched-pass in party colours carrying peace plants as a message to their fellow youths to return to the path of peace for a progressive and democratic society.
“We have a nation to build, we have a young democracy which is rapidly growing and we have to cherish that and develop it. As young people, we should all embrace peace and be one another’s keeper”, Mezam 1B YCPDM Section President, Fru Abongwa Nche enjoined his fellow youths.
As the lone political party which participated in this year’s Youth Day celebration in Bamenda and the region at large, the CPDM again stamped its authority in power not just at the national level but particularly in the region where 33 out of the 34 councils are CPDM run with over 45 per cent youth participation. The mobilisation comes at the time when political parties are currently enrolling voters on ELECAM’s lists, in readiness for Senatorial elections next year. It is worth noting that youths constitute a good chunk of councillors in the region.
