Since 2020, the government, well-wishers and other humanitarian bodies have been working day in, day out to ensure that the outstanding and renowned health facility gets back on its feet.
Denizens of Kumba abroad have made numerous donations both in cash and material to salvage the situation. The Government acted promptly by allocating a whooping sum of FCFA 600.000.000, for the reconstruction of the burnt sections of the hospital in 2020.
It is in the light of the above that the Bafaw Cultural and Development Association in the USA, known as BAFCUDA, the indigenes of Kumba, decided to pull their resources to assist their city and the Kumba District Hospital in their own way. The chief disclosed that the sad incident attracted many sympathisers, who rushed to assist in different ways. The Bafaw Cultural and Development Association in USA, the Nfon said could not stay behind, given that Kumba remains their main home. “ Their support is indeed a great booster to other Bafaw diasporas. We expect much from BAFCUDA in the days ahead and that other Bafaw unions across the globe should copy their good work. We are indebted to BAFCUDA and pray that their gesture continue to other sections of the hospital“.
